Time
Solar noon and true midnight
Solar noon and true midnight are the two fixed points of the Lilyan day.
Solar noon is the moment when the Sun is highest for the reference place. For Lilyan time, that reference place is Bonn.
True midnight sits opposite solar noon. It is the point used for the Lilyan date boundary.
The Today panel shows both ideas because they are useful checks on the day. Solar noon tells you where the Sun centers the day, and true midnight tells you when the next Lilyan day begins.
In short
- Solar noon is the high point of the Sun for Bonn.
- True midnight is the date boundary.
- The displayed time is calculated within those solar day limits.
